I just DL'd Jim Wise's Aud.recording of 9/12/81 and I'm amazed!! Does it get any better?! Jerry's playing is soooo "ON" that night, one of THE best Friend of the devil and Me & my Uncle (usally no biggie, those 2)and my now favorite Shakedown st.
Does anyone know of more early 80's shows this awesome?

Tough to match 9/12/81 - it's a sick one! Odd footnote - I received my tapes of that show the day Jerry died. Bird Song is one of my favorites, as is the Scarlet>Fire jam.

Some other sizzling selections from the 1981 section of the menu: 3/9/81, 5/5/81, or 8/27/81.

That whole Greek run is awesome, It is one of my favorite 3 show runs of all time. Check out the Other One>Dew from 9-11. the Scarlet >Fire from 9-12 is one of my favorites of all time.
81-82 is one of my favorite eras for the boys, Jerry was still at the top of his game, Brent had really blossomed into a great keyboardist and was a very important part of the sound. I love the whole summer midwest tour, the Greek run, the Melkweg birthday shows in Amsterdam and the New Years run from 1981. If you peruse the reviews from that year you will see an awful lot of 5 star shows.
There are a lot of great shows and runs from the early 80'sHere are a few of my personal favorites:
7-14-81
12-31-81
10-9 & 10-10/82
9/2/83
9/6,7&8/83
9/10&11/83

No Audience recording available for 8/10/82? Too bad...
Love that show...and the 81 Greeks of course! Long live the Dew! Purple Gel won't steer you wrong.

I miss the old year by year format. I can't seem to figure this new system out in order to look over some of my favs to see if there are Auds to download these days.
